The Cavemen Go @ 33 Golden/New London, August 17th

The Cavemen Go @ 33 Golden Street/August 17th
Yup, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. We will be playing our first show in over a year at New London, CT.’s 33 Golden Street on Saturday, August 17th. Joining us for this one-off performance will be the righteous sounds of M.T. Bearington (New Haven psych-pop) and The Lost Riots (New Haven punk rock). For those of you who missed our show last June, mark your calendars because this will, once again, most likely be our last show for a while. Special thanks go out to Die Hipster! for making this happen. Rock n’ Roll!

Around the Cave…

…Begin transmission…We have regained control of the ‘dot com’ (woo hoo!) but not before losing everything from the old site (ehh…). As a result, the long gestating ‘archives’ section is basically back at square one.  On the plus side, we have also resurrected the long mistreated TCG wordpress and have made it our new home. Expect further updates and expansions of the ‘blog’ including info on our post-TCG projects and, yes, the ‘archives.’  In the meantime we leave you with this nugget from the Kinks’ 1970 LP Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One; enjoy…End transmission…

Look At Those Cavemen Go

As you may or may not have heard already, our longtime friend and band mate Emily McMinn announced her departure from the Cavemen Go this past week. Rather than wallow in our own misery, we decided to play one last show at the Oasis in New London as means of celebrating Emily’s stay with the band. And a celebration it was. We wanted to thank everyone who came out on Friday to wish Emily well and also to acknowledge her dedication and many contributions to the band; it was a truly memorable night at a truly memorable venue in a truly great town. As for the rest of us, its safe to say that The Cavemen Go will be taking an extended break from any type of performance or recording activity for the near future. During this time we will be going back to the drawing board, so to speak, in hopes of creating something that can once again live up to our past successes. We can’t guarantee what the result of said excursion will be or even if the Cavemen Go, as we know it, will ever return. Whatever the outcome, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to each and every person who contributed to or supported us; we had a long run and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. We feel truly grateful to have been able to share our music with everyone and hope you were able to experience even some of the joy it brought us in return. Thanks again for everything and we hope to see you again in the future.

Whoah! What is this thing??

So a while ago we started a blog with the intention of using it. But then we didn’t. In the meantime we released a record, made a video and played a bunch of shows (with three different bass players!). We recently had the good fortune of being asked to play a couple of gnarly festivals (including one in Georgia). This aforementioned trek down south will also most likely facilitate a real tour. What better reason to resurrect this hunk of html and css coding than a tour?? Oh yeah, maybe we’ll finally get around to the record and video too…

Now to something serious…

Essential viewing for all of the death metal types like us…

Stories from the road…..

The Cavemen Go don’t need no stinkin’ tour van.  As a matter of fact, this band is a tour van. At any given moment the Cavemen Go are simultaneously in three states at once. Yes, we’re THAT awesome. Also we don’t tour. At least not in the traditional sense. Instead we live in three of the greatest cities ever. WE’RE ALWAYS ON THE ROAD. Yah, take that! Wait, what was I saying? Oh yah, tour vans.

Anyway, a few years ago David Bowie came to us in a collective dream to impart wisdom on some body image issues that we were having at the time.  It was pretty real. Afterward, we sold the story to HBO for $10,000 dollars in order to fund the recording of our last record. Here’s what they came up with:

Just where are the Cavemen going?

Surely a question for the ages…

In other news, we have a new blog! Actually, this is nothing new (we used to have a blog….in 2004)  but this one will be bigger, better, BRIGHTER and will be filled with insights into our genius including: Strongbad, cold fusion, Mexicali burritos, David Bowie, PBR and the ever elusive diminished chord. Yessiree, come one, come all; witness the drama, live the excitement, feel the energy! Digital Drop is about to, y’know, DROP!
